The Swords of Sanguinius are going to need a Chapter Master to replace Dante - this is the original idea and WIP of my "counts as Dante" model.
I will model the pistol to be a melta pistol and the spear will count as Dante's axe. The wings, not surprisingly, count as a jump pack.
Of course shortly after I got to this point I took the whole thing apart... but that's another story.
I've started in on the models that will replace my Blood Angels army. I'm going to swap them out one squad at a time and sell off my original Blood Angels as I go.
These will be the Swords of Sanguinius. I'm using the Blood Angels helmet scheme with the halved armour - so Assault Marines will have yellow helmets, Tactical will be red, etc. I'm also using Dark Angels iconography - winged sword - for the Tacticals and Ravenwing iconography for the Assault.
In the end this will not only allow me to replace my Blood Angels but field them as the custom Chapter of my choice. WIN!
I get together most Monday nights and paint with a group of folks at our local nerd store. One Monday I showed up and didn't really have anything to paint. My buddy Dave jokingly pulled out this Nob, mentioned he was going to paint it Bad Moons colours, and said I could paint it for him.
He was very much kidding. Of course he didn't say "no" when I jumped up and said "yes." I've wanted to paint this model, in Bad Moons colours, for a long time.
Dave was quite pleased and I got a limited edition Space Marine model out of the deal. Good times.
After painting all of my Blood Angels I wanted to go back and do one to a slightly higher standard. This effort wound up turning into a freehand and decals exercise, however, with very pleasing results.
I've had Cassius here sitting on my shelf, half painted, for well over a year.
Rather than go with the typical black armoured Chaplain I decided to paint him in a halved scheme. This let me play with a simple blue recipe and add some visual interest to the model.
There is still some touch up work to do but I am otherwise quite pleased with the result.
An update on the re-painting effort of my Emperor's Children dreadnought. Of course I built the model before the new Codex was released and I'd never actually field a lascannon dread any more...
Another Baneblade commission - this time a sweet conversion by Psypath.
I'm not dead - not yet anyway - and I will have work to post shortly. In the interim I'm posting a link to a free, online Adobe tool that is similar, though vastly superior, to the color matching tool I have in the resources section:
